It’s your DAWG Young Bladez aka Shrugz “R” Us aka Shrug.com, back again serving up the essential hip-hop bangers for your in gym antics. This week we got the 305 big dawg and legend of the MIA Trick Daddy.
I won’t get into a great amount of detail about Trick, he was born in raised in Miami’s Liberty City. Got his start with MIA legend and former 2 Live Crew member Uncle Luke. Trick was well know in the local MIA rap scene in the mid to late 90’s, but didn’t reach commercial success until the 2001 release of his album “Thugs Are Us”. Thugs Are Us featured the massive hit “I’m a Thug”, which peaked at 17 on the Billboard Hot 100.
I remember when this track came out in 7th grade, a young pudgy faced Young Bladez was vibing on this one. Every time I hear this track it brings me back to the days of Ecko Apparel and Napster, life was much simpler then. So with that being said here it is! But be warned this song might make you feel aggressively thuggish ruggish!!
