Crossfit Zone gym to host Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Victoria “Fight Gone Bad” Charitable Event
When Victoria fitness fanatics step up for their 17 minutes of the Fight Gone Bad workout on Saturday, November 28, they won’t be competing just for points, they’ll also be collecting food, clothing and toys for the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Victoria, benefiting families in need in the Capital Region.
“CrossFit Zone is very excited to hold our second Fight Gone Bad challenge in support of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Victoria” says Deanna Whiteley, owner and operator of The Crossfit Zone. “The first challenge we held in September was a huge success with 6 teams raising over $2,000.”
In the first three editions of the Fight Gone Bad fundraising event Crossfit affiliates worldwide raised more than US $1.4 million. Fight Gone Bad is one of the toughest workouts known to Crossfit regulars. Victoria’s Crossfit Zone is confident that members of the Victoria fitness community will be up for the challenge and will offer various levels of the workout for all abilities.
In this workout, participants move through 6 stations for one minute each. Scoring is based on the number of repetitions the athletes can complete in each minute (rowing = one point per calorie burned). The workout was given its name by World Ultimate Fighting Champion BJ Penn, who remarked after finishing, “That was just like a fight gone bad.” The workout is 3 rounds of:
- Wall balls
- Sumo dead lift high pulls
- Box jumps
- Push-presses
- Rowing

The event will take place on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at The Crossfit Zone (613 Herald Street Victoria, BC). Workouts will start at 10:00 AM.
